Future-oriented solution in terms of Biogas: BioEnergie Park in Güstrow counts on Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH.

In terms of size and capacity (50 MW/h), the NAWARO® BioEnergie Park "Güstrow" is unparalleled and cannot be compared to other biogas plants. Biogas has been produced at an industrial scale and refined to natural gas quality here in northern Germany since 2009.

Using state-of-the-art technology, five "clover leaves" with four fermenters produce 46 million m³ of biomethane a year, enough to cover the entire energy consumption of more than 50,000 households as and when required in a climate-neutral way. This translates into approx. 160 million kilowatt hours of electricity as well as 180 million kilowatt hours of thermal energy (heat) a year, or the consumption of a medium-sized county town. Around 5,000 cubic metres of biogas are fed directly into the natural gas grid every hour.

Major difficulties with the originally installed pumping system forced the operators to look for a long-term, future-oriented solution.

Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH took up the unique opportunity this represented and placed one of its flagship products here. Our eccentric screw pump KL 65 S 125.1 with 15kW for 40m³/h is the ideal solution for this operator. The pump had to be developed further in collaboration with NAWARO AG. One of the best innovations is a square casing, which was used in Güstrow for the first time and has been running to our fullest satisfaction ever since. We have therefore managed to change around 30 pumps since 2009, and there are still some to come.
