Pumps for waste water treatment:
Flocculents (iron and aluminium salts) and flocculation agents (organic polyelectrolytes such as polyacrylamide) are used to remove colloidal materials, fine dirt particles and phosphorus from waste water. The flocculents cause the substances in question to precipitate in the form of microflakes. The flocculation agents accelerate this cleaning process by inducing an electrochemical reaction which results in the microflakes joining together to form fast sinking macroflakes.
In addition, lyes or acids are pumped into the waste water for neutralization or pH adjustment purposes. Adding metallic salts, milk of lime and polyelectrolytes optimizes the dewatering of the sludge.
Whichever chemical agents are added, the important thing is the accuracy of dosing. This criterion is best met by WANGEN pumps e.g. from the KB series, preferably in high-grade steel design.
Thanks to the vertical construction form, the WANGEN KL-T / KB-T has only a small space requirement. The consistent diameter of the joint connections ensures constant flow speeds and reduces the sensitivity to foreign materials. The low-pulsation continuous conveying of media is independent of the pressure and viscosity.
The pump is available in the size 22 with cast iron housing. It is equipped with long-lasting, wear- and maintenance-free flexible joint without oil filling (prevents contamination of the media).
The WANGEN progressing cavity pumps of the KB-S serie are, in contrast to the KL-S serie, equipped with a block housing. There, the drive is coupled directly to the pump housing, which is ideal for normal pump operation or for small conveyed volumes. The pump conveys viscous and abrasive mediums.

Optimum preparation of the substrate
The WANGEN BIO-ROXX mixes the solids and liquid together to improve the efficiency of every Biogas and Anaerobic Digestion plant.
Thanks to the large built-in stone trap contaminants like stones, or others, are separated from the substrate and can be removed very easily through the large accessible opening.
In combination with other WANGEN products like the WANGEN X-UNIT and the WANGEN X-CUT the profitability of the plant increases by reducing the energy consumption of the agitators in the fermenters.
Pumps for sludge dewatering and sludge drying
During preliminary sedimentation and final sedimentation in waste water treatment plants, the resulting concentrated sludge is either dewatered directly or fed via the anaerobic fermentation stage to sludge dewatering units. This conveying task is performed by the suction pumps e.g. of the WANGEN KB and KL series.
In the dewatering units the sludge is dewatered with the help of decanting centrifuges, traveling screen presses, rotary filter presses or chamber filter presses and then pumped with a dry substance content (DS) of 20–45% for further treatment into containers, sludge tanks or directly to the sludge drying station. The pumping characteristics of the dewatered sludge varies in this case according to the DS content, composition and chemical conditioning. Accordingly varied are the pumping requirements which we meet with the specially developed jaw and silo pumps of the WANGEN KL-R, KL-RÜ, KL-RS and KL-RQ series.
