WANGEN introduces the “excavator pump”, an innovation for mastering the challenge of emptying fermenters.

After a good many years of industrial operation, th e operators of biogas plants are now faced with the challenge of carrying out tank inspections without any interruption to plant operation.

To make this possible, Pumpenfabrik Wangen received requests at various biogas trade fairs to come up with a reliable and mobile pump solution .

In response to the high level of demand, Pumpenfabr ik Wangen has now added a new development in the field of fermenter inspections t o its range of products. The requirements to be met in terms of the technical equipment revol ved around the combination of a high flow rate involving difficult substrates and the use of heavy equipment (excavators, telehandlers, etc.) at the biogas plants.

The WANGEN KL65S pump with hydraulic drive sets new standards for inspection work at biogas plants. Attached vertically to booms they of fer tremendous flexibility even in the most confined spaces. The substrate is sucked up at the discharge nozzle, which ensures that the material is pumped with reliability.

The hydraulic drive uses the hydraulic unit of the excavators and trucks on site, so there is no need for an electricity supply. The WANGEN pump is therefore absolutely ideal for dealing with cases of damage as well, to get the co ntents of the tank recycled as quickly as possible.

Available pump unit sizes are 140.0 and 145.0 – for handling flow rates of 200m³/h to 300m³/h.
