Main focus of the conference: biofuels and renewable energy

The Lignofuels conference has now been held for the 17th time. The high level of participation in the conference showed how important the exchange about biofuels and renewable energy is. A total of 200 participants from all over the world met for an intensive exchange in the Finnish capital of Helsinki for two days. The focus of the conference was on biofuels, other materials as well as latest information about legislation in the European market. Of course, new technologies and future-oriented solutions were also a primary concern of the speakers.

A reference visit to UPM Lappeenranta Biorefinery in southern Finland showed the participants how wood diesel is obtained from fort residues. The company started the production of wood-based diesel in 2015 and was the first company in the world to do so.

Fossil fuels are becoming scarce and renewable energy is gaining importance. The pump factory Wangen GmbH develops and produces progressing cavity pumps for this branch of technology, especially for conveying substrate, feeding in solid material and loading the separators, and is a member of the Biogas trade association as well as a founding member of WBA (World Biogas Association).

Here you can find all the information about the pump series for biogas in detail.
