The WANGEN MX pumps taste

For over a century, Lay Gewürze oHG has been producing a wide range of natural spices, spice mixtures, marinades and additives for the production and refinement of food.

The WANGEN MX progressing cavity pump is used by Lay in the production at its site in Grabfeld in the south of Thuringia (Germany) and is part of the process for the production of high-viscosity spice mixtures.

The Wangen MX30S 30/80 pump is an integral part of a process for the production of high-viscosity spice mixtures, which are pumped through a tubular heat exchanger for pasteurisation and subsequent cooling," explains Michael Fischer, Plant Manager at Lay.
The total length of the pipes of the tubular heat exchanger is around 400 metres with a diameter of 50 mm. The MX pump needs to overcome 27 bar pressure on the pressure side. The pump combines high pressures coupled with a relatively short, space-saving design. The lumpy ingredients of the spice mixtures and sauces are gently pumped and are thus retained.
The hygienic progressing cavity pump WANGEN MX:
impressive ease of service, function and reliability. The MX is used for challenging hygienic pumping and metering processes in the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. The pump meets the exacting requirements in these sectors, as state-of-the-art design features provide for excellent ease of cleaning and maintenance, while the modular system enables the pump to be ideally adapted to customer-specific applications. Thanks to their EvenWall® technology, the pumps have a minimal elastomer layer thickness, enabling them to cope with very high levels of pressure.
