Perfect pump care

Last year, Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH launched the Pump Academy, a comprehensive training programme for sales and service partners. Thirty-eight participants have already taken advantage of the first eight sessions to gain confidence in using the company's pump technology or to train new employees. The successful concept is entering a new round this year.

Participants particularly highlight the close link between theory and practice: during the training, they have the opportunity to learn tips and tricks from experts. Participants can then carry out minor maintenance and repair work themselves. The content is tailored to employees of sales and service partners who are in technical contact with customers. A technical understanding of the pumps ensures confidence in their use and professional interaction with customers. This is important, for example, for inspections and maintenance work or for troubleshooting and subsequent spare parts ordering.

Basic training on progressing cavity pumps

This one-day training course covers the functioning, maintenance and minor repair work for progressive cavity pumps. In addition to theoretical basics, the focus is primarily on practical exercises on the pumps. Participants receive a certificate upon completion.

“Optimally maintained pumps have a longer service life – replacing wear parts in good time also minimises downtime," explains Carmen Stehle, Service and Complaints Department. With this programme, the pump manufacturer aims to further improve its service for customers and partners. ‘Our service and sales partners also use the format for onboarding new employees,’ confirms Stehle. The training courses take place at the pump factory in Wangen. The participation fee is based on the number of participants per company. In order to ensure the high quality of the training courses, the number of participants is limited to a maximum of five - Anyone wishing to take part should register in good time.
